2019 Kia Sportage vs 2019 Chevy Equinox
Several of the new and updated vehicles for the 2019 model year have begun arriving here at Hometown Kia. Naturally, there are a host of other 2019 models being released across the market. So, we thought we’d jump at an early 2019 comparison by pitting one of our available new crossovers against one of its competitors. With that in mind, we’ve pit the 2019 Kia Sportage vs 2019 Chevy Equinox.
Taking a glance at the table below makes it easy to see just how comparable to one another these two crossovers are. We’ll go through the table row by row to give you a better idea of exactly where each has its advantages, because as similar as they are they do have their clear advantages even though they are relatively minimal.
2019 Kia Sportage
2019 Chevy Equinox
|181 HP||Horsepower||170 HP|
|26 mpg||Combined Fuel Efficiency||28 mpg|
|30.7 cu. ft.||Cargo Capacity||29.9 cu. ft.|
Advantages of the 2019 Sportage
In the first row we take a look at horsepower, which is an integral specification regardless of vehicle class or segment. Power is what makes your vehicle go and having more of it means you’ll probably enjoy your experience on the road a little more. It also generally means higher capabilities, allowing you to carry more cargo. Unfortunately, it also often means slightly less fuel efficiency. So, although the Kia Sportage offers an extra 11 horsepower, it does give up 2 mpg combined fuel efficiency.
If you’re okay with giving up a bit of savings at the gas pump in exchange for that boost to power, then you’ll be pleased to hear that although both crossovers offer seating for up to 5 passengers, the Sportage does offer an extra 0.8 cubic feet of cargo capacity. Keeping in line with the rest of the advantages, it’s not a huge one. But it’s there, and will accommodate a couple of extra grocery bags or soccer balls.
