As vehicles become available, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety puts them through their battery of tests to determine just how safe they are. The safety ratings that come as a result of these tests are some of the most highly regarded by consumers on the entire market. If a vehicle gets a bad score from the IIHS, you should probably steer clear. Likewise, if a vehicle achieves an impressive score, that’s a vehicle you should consider. Furthermore, if a specific brand manages to stack up more of these impressive ratings than any other brand, you should simply look at that brand in general. This is why we’re so pleased to inform you that eight, yes eight, Kia models have earned either the 2018 Top Safety Pick or, the only thing that’s higher, a 2018 Top Safety Pick+ rating from the IIHS.

How do you get TSP & TSP+?

All-new2019 Kia Sorento Exterior Driver Side Front AngleIn order for a vehicle to earn a Top Safety Pick+ rating, the vehicle must achieve “Good” in all six crashworthiness tests, as well as “Good” or “Acceptable” in the passenger side small overlap test, “Advanced” or “Superior” in front crash prevent, and “Good” in the headlight test. Things are toned down a bit for TSP, but it’s nearly as difficult. If you’re interested in any of these vehicles, be sure to get in touch with us right away.
