The latest and greatest in infotainment systems now come with systems like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. And who wouldn’t want a feature that lets you use apps from your smart phone through your car’s controls? So to answer question as to whether the 2017 Sportage has Android Auto, yes it does. It has Android Auto and Apple CarPlay available even on its base trim, a Kia first!
With the 2017 Sportage, UVO eServices with 7-inch color touch-screen display with Android Auto/Apple CarPlay is optional on the LX trim level and a standard feature on the EX and SX Turbo. Also on the EX and SX Turbo, you can add voice-command navigation with 8-inch color touch screen display, SiriusXM traffic and HD radio, standard on the latter and optional on the EX.

Setting up Android Auto
Once your phone is equipped with the Android Auto app, you’ll want to set up your Kia’s UVO system to work with your phone. Again, the process is really easy and straightforward.
- Push the SETUP key on your dash.
- On the touch screen press the CONNECTIVITY icon.
- Swipe to check the box enabling Android Auto.
- Connect your phone to your Kia with the USB cord provided with your phone.
- When you want to use Android Auto then, all you have to do is press the Android Auto icon on the car’s home screen.

What’s important to note is that in order to use Android Auto, your phone must be connected to your Kia via USB. The Bluetooth features, standard on the 2017 Sportage, can be operated separately without USB connectivity through the controls on the dash or steering wheel.
