Eight Kia Models Earn Top Safety Pick or Higher from IIHS

As vehicles become available, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety puts them through their battery of tests to determine just how safe they are. The safety ratings that come as a result of these tests are some of the most highly regarded by consumers on the entire market. If a vehicle gets a bad score from the IIHS, you should probably steer clear. Likewise, if a vehicle achieves an impressive score, that’s a vehicle you should consider. Furthermore, if a specific brand manages to stack up more of these impressive ratings than any other brand, you should simply look at that brand in general. Each year J.D. Power performs a number of different studies. One of the most exciting and important is the Vehicle Dependability Study, which for 2018 was just completed and announced. The VDS is an industrywide study that looks at reported issues and comments from the past twelve months submitted by owners of vehicles that have been on the road for three years. So, for this year, that’d be 2015 model year vehicles. While the all-new 2018 Kia Rio is available now, and it’s starting to look like an even better option in the small car segments as owners seem to be pretty happy with the 2015 model. (more…)
