The safety ratings that come as a result of these tests are some of the most highly regarded by consumers on the entire market. Each year, AutoPacific hosts the Ideal Vehicle Awards by handing out a national survey. In the survey, more than 54,000 people who own vehicles belonging to the 2016 or 2017 model year are asked about fifteen specific areas of their vehicle. The question that AutoPacific asks of their survey takers is what about these areas – including things like cabin storage, safety features, performance and ride quality – they would like to change in their vehicle. AutoPacific then determines their winners by awarding the vehicles with the fewest change suggestions or requests. This year, the 2017 Kia Sportage was named among the award-winning vehicles.
