The Kia Sorento uses Kia Drive Wise technology, but the standard features on each trim vary. Check out the 10 advanced safety and driver assistance features on the 2020 Sorento!

1. Blind Spot Collision Avoidance-Assist

   This advanced technology helps reduce blind spots. The Sorento sends a visual alert or auditory signal to notify the driver if there is an object in their blind spot and if corrections aren’t made in time, the vehicle applies the brakes. Blind Spot Collision Avoidance-Assist is standard on S V6, EX and SX trim levels.

2. Blind Spot Collision Warning

   This system uses a radar-based detection system to determine if a vehicle is in the Sorento’s blind spot and sends the driver visual or auditory notifications. Blind Spot Collision Warning is standard on the LX, S V6, EX and SX trim levels.

3. Driver Attention Warning

   The Driver Attention Warning system tracks the driver’s attention level and notifies them if they become distracted and need to pay more attention to the road. This technology is standard on EX and SX models.

4. Forward Collision-Avoidance with Pedestrian Detection

   This technology alerts the driver if they quickly approach a slow-moving or stopped vehicle. If the driver does not brake in time, the Sorento will automatically brake to avoid a collision. This technology is available on the LX and standard on the S V6.

5. Forward Collision Warning

   Forward Collision Warning uses a windshield-mounted radar that searches for automobiles in front of the Sorento and warns the driver if there is potential for an accident. This driver-assistance features is standard on EX and EX trims.

6. Lane Departure Warning

   Lane Departure Warning uses a windshield-mounted camera that identifies and tracks the Sorento’s position in its lane. When the vehicle starts to veer from the lane, the driver gets a notification. Lane Departure Warning is on the EX and SX grades.

7. Lane Keeping Assist

   Lane Keeping Assist utilizes the same technology as Lane Departure Warning, but it corrects steering when the driver drifts from their lane. EX and SX grades have this feature.

8. Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning

   Using sensors on the corners of the rear bumper, the Sorento scans for vehicles and pedestrians in the driver’s blind spot as they back out of a parking spot. When an object appears in the intended path, the system notifies the driver. This technology is on the S V6, EX and SX models.

9. Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance

   Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance uses the same technology as Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning, but the Sorento applies the brakes if it senses a potential hazard. This system is on the S V6, EX and SX models.

10. Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go

    This technology allows the driver to effortlessly set the Sorento’s cruise control on the vehicle in front of it while maintaining a set distance from the vehicle. The Sorento is capable and slowing and accelerating to match the speed of the vehicle in front of it. The EX and SX trims have this technology.
