Each year in Las Vegas, several of the automotive manufacturers around the industry gather to showcase what’s truly capable with their vehicles at the SEMA Show. SEMA is the Specialty Equipment Market Association, and essentially the auto show is a gathering of traditional automakers and the companies that build aftermarket accessories and upgrades for their vehicles to combine them and create incredible special edition vehicles. For 2017, Kia brought some awesome Stinger and Cadenza models, as well as a high performance and drifting exhibit.

“We are so thrilled to show off what Kia has become at SEMA because 2017 is a momentous year for our Kia brand. We ranked #1 in quality for the second year in a row in JD Power’s Initial Quality Study, we are top three in Consumer Reports reliability and we are now introducing the all-new 2018 four-door Stinger Sports Fastback, Kia’s fastest ever and our first performance vehicle.”

Kia Stinger GT Drifting & High-Performance Experience
Outside of the Las Vegas Convention Center, where the main 2017 SEMA Show was held, Kia completely repurposed the Gold Lot outside of North Hall into a high-performance racetrack and drift course. Attendees of the event were able to hop into one of the special Stinger GT models alongside a Formula Drift driver as they took them around corners at close to 50 miles per hour, jumped off the line from 0-60 and then brought the car to a full stop.
Special Edition Models
You can see the special edition models that were built for the show below. The Stinger GT Federation (the orange one) was built with parts from a number of different aftermarket specialists, while the Cadenza Obsidian (the black one) and the Stinger GT Wide Body (the blue one) were specialty edition versions of each vehicle designed by West Coast Customs. The fourth picture was taken at the aforementioned drifting experience.
We cannot wait to see what Kia has in store next year at the 2018 SEMA Show!
